Media Advisory: CUPE Alberta Convention Next Week

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 13, 2009) - Over 200 members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will gather in Edmonton next week for the annual convention of CUPE Alberta.

CUPE represents over 30,000 employees in the province of Alberta in the education, municipal, health care, ambulance and social services sector.

CUPE Alberta President D'Arcy Lanovaz will not seek re-election at this year's convention. Election for a new President will occur Saturday morning.
