Media Advisory: CUPE Local 5050 to hold 'Walk of Concern' to highlight service cuts to CBVRSB students

SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - May 18, 2012) - The union representing more than 1,300 school board workers at the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board will be holding a 'Walk of Concern' to highlight the second year in a row of cuts to services and jobs.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 22 at 12:00 noon

WHERE: The walk will begin at the CBVRSB Head Office, 275 George St. and will last half an hour.

Local 5050 Fightback Committee Chair Mary Jessome says, "We are inviting all concerned parents, community members and board staff to come and join us. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to walk and protest the provincial government's budget cuts to the education system here in Cape Breton."
