Media Advisory: CUPE Members to Announce Campaign on Developmental Services Funding

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 17, 2009) - Representatives of CUPE developmental service workers in the Ottawa area will hold a news conference at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 18 in the Judy Darcy Boardroom, CUPE National Office, 1375 St. Laurent Blvd. to announce a pre-budget campaign on provincial funding for developmental services.

"Our members are concerned about the provincial economy and what lies ahead for these important supports for persons with a developmental disability," said Marcel Walsh, a frontline developmental services worker and president of CUPE 3826.

Walsh will be joined by Eric St. Jean and Madeline Herisse, both members of CUPE 3691.
