Media Advisory: CUPE Members to Announce Campaign on Developmental Services Funding

HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 23, 2009) - Representatives of CUPE developmental service workers in the Hamilton area will hold a news conference today March 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at 1130 Barton Street East, Room 207 to announce a pre-budget campaign on provincial funding for developmental services.

"Our members are concerned about the provincial economy and what lies ahead for these important supports for persons with a developmental disability," commented Jim Beattie, president of CUPE 3943. He will be joined by other frontline workers from Community Living Hamilton including Kathy Hastings, who is also the sister of a supported individual, and Don Fraser, President, Hamilton & District Labour Council.
