Media Advisory: CUPE Ontario Convention highlights for Thursday and Friday

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 27, 2015) - More than 1000 members of Ontario's largest union are meeting at the Toronto Sheraton Centre Hotel this week for the 52^nd annual Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario Convention.

The Convention, which runs May 27-30, has an exciting lineup, with guest speakers including Federal NDP Leader Tom Mulcair and Lucia McKeever, president of UNISON, which is the largest public-sector union in the U.K. and which has been fighting the austerity of Prime Minister David Cameron's government.

Hundreds of members will join a rally at Queen's Park on Thursday against the Liberal government's plan to privatize Hydro One.
