Who's killing Copenhagen?

Climate Cover-Up author James Hoggan brings a murder mystery to The Empire Club.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 16, 2009) - With just weeks remaining before the global climate summit in Copenhagen in December, the prospect of a binding agreement seems fleeting, at best. Copenhagen, if not dead already, is dying and the trail of blood leads straight back to Canada - to corporate boardrooms, public relations offices and, most recently, to the Cabinet table of the Canadian federal government.

THE DETECTIVE      Jim Hoggan, President of Hoggan & Associates, Chair of the
David Suzuki Foundation and of Al Gore's group, The
Climate Project-Canada, and a trustee of the Dalai Lama
Center for Peace and Education and founder of the climate
       change website
THE EVIDENCE      Climate Cover-Up, the controversial new book by James
Hoggan (with journalist Richard Littlemore), delves into
the shady details of an industry-funded public relations
campaign to confuse and distract the public from action on
climate change. The book tracks the campaign from the first
energy industry strategy papers, analyzing tactics and
identifying participants: oil and coal companies, PR firms,
think tanks and pseudo scientists who have taken industry
funds while denying or misinterpreting the work of the
       world's best climate experts.
Since writing the book, Hoggan and Littlemore have
continued their research, leading to the suspects in the
       assault on Copenhagen.
WHEN/WHERE?      Noon - Tuesday, November 17th.
       Empire Club
       Le Méridien King Edward Hotel
       Vanity Fair Ballroom
       37 King St. E. Toronto
