Media Advisory: Environment Canada-Federal, Provincial Ministers To Announce Great Lakes Initiatives

KINGSTON, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 9, 2005) - Media representatives are advised that Canada's Environment Minister, the Honourable Stephane Dion, will be speaking on the International Joint Commission's (IJC) role in educating the public about the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement at the IJC's 2005 Great Lakes Conference and Biennial Meeting in Kingston, Ontario, on June 11, 2005.

Minister Dion and Ontario's Environment Minister, Leona Dombrowsky, will also be announcing the Canada-Ontario Agreement (COA) Respecting the Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem's 2002-03 Biennial Progress Report and the sediment management strategy for the Cornwall Remedial Action Plan.
