TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 30, 2014) - Canadian Association for Equality (CAFE) will proceed with Equality Day (E-Day) this Sunday, June 1st from 12PM to 7PM. Volunteers will engage directly with the public at the South-West corner of Dundas and Yonge, across from Dundas Square.
Equality Day musical activities will be postponed to next Sunday, June 8. Details to be announced.
CAFE received overwhelming support from musicians, sponsors and the general public for Equality Day. After months of productive collaboration, Artscape Gibralter-Point cancelled the use of their location after receiving a small number of misinformed complaints.
"CAFE is an educational charity working with support from City Councillors, MPPs and social service agencies to host important programs for those in need," said CAFE Outreach Director Denise Fong.
"Our opponents have expanded much effort to prevent others from hearing what we have to say," said Fong. "This Sunday we welcome the public to meet us and learn what we're all about firsthand."
