Media Advisory: Exalead Search-Based Applications Address Three Challenges in Information Access

New Video by Expert Stephen Arnold Explores Evolving User Needs and Explains How Exalead Utilizes Cutting-Edge Technology to Solve Customer Challenges

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - December 20, 2010) - Exalead (, a global provider of search-based applications (SBA) technology, today released a new video that explores the major challenges in current information access technology, as well as explains how the Exalead platform addresses those needs.

The videos feature Stephen Arnold, president of Arnold Information Technology, an organization specializing in electronic publishing, marketing via electronic media, online system engineering, and database design. Arnold is also author and editor of the Beyond Search blog.

In this video about search-based applications and information access, Arnold explains that the three biggest challenges in information access today include:

1. Getting a system in place that meets user needs. Research shows two-thirds of users are dissatisfied with their search and contact processing systems.

2. Adopting a system that fits into employee workflow. The old model of expecting workers to use multiple systems and manually combine them is outdated today.

3. Breaking down barriers in organizations. Workers today need information that is on the Internet and social networking sites, in addition to what is on the company's internal servers.

"Exalead delivers applications that fit seamlessly and smoothly into customer workflows," said Arnold. "When I spoke with Exalead customers I heard only: 'This system works,' 'It's easy to use,' 'It's stable,' and 'I don't have to chase around.'"
