Media Advisory: Experts Offer Road Map to Green Jobs in Ontario

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 29, 2010) - Leading environmental experts will urge a conference of Ontario's agenda-setters to turn the province's recovery into an economic green movement on Saturday January 30.

WHAT: Making Green Jobs Happen conference

WHERE: Direct Energy Centre, 100 Princess Boulevard, Toronto

WHEN: Saturday January 30, 1 pm and 4 pm

1 pm keynote address:

Economist and co-director of the Political Economic Research Institute (PERI) Robert Pollin assures Ontario that tens of thousands of green jobs are there for the taking but urges Ontario to keep up with the U.S. green economy initiatives or risk falling behind.

4 pm closing speech:

Michael Peck, a leader in the U.S. green jobs movement and one of the architects of the Gamesa project that turned abandoned American steel mills into working windmill factories, will show conference participants how fresh thinking can create thousands of green jobs in Ontario at a time when it needs it most.
