Media Advisory: Farmers Reminded to Apply for Canada-Alberta Water Supply Expansion Program by July 25, 2008

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 10, 2008) - Rural municipalities, producer groups, and organizations, are being reminded to get their applications in for the Canada-Alberta Water Supply Expansion Program (CAWSEP). The application deadline for the 2008-2009 program year is July 25, 2008.

Through this program, eligible applicants can apply for assistance - technical and financial - for projects which develop, enhance and/or protect agricultural water supplies and initiatives in Alberta.

Under the CAWSEP, two types of projects will be considered for assistance: Multi-user Water Infrastructure such as tank loaders and regional water pipelines; and Strategic Initiatives and Studies such as regional groundwater studies, groundwater exploration or testing, regional water management planning and water supply planning.
