Media Advisory: For "Professionals Serving Canadians", CAPE President Claude Poirier Testifies Before the Standing Committee on Finance on Bill C-38

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 29, 2012) - The Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) will present the brief of the "Professionals Serving Canadians" (PSC) coalition to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance on Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012. On behalf of the PSC, CAPE President Claude Poirier will present recommendations to protect the rights of federal professional employees as well as services delivered to all Canadians.

The brief will be posted on the coalition's Website www.SafetyEh.ca following the presentation.

"Professionals Serving Canadians" (PSC) is a coalition of six concerned public service unions representing more than 75,000 professionals employed by the federal government:

  1. The Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE)

  2. The Association of Canadian Financial Officers (ACFO)

  3. The Association of Justice Counsel (AJC)

  4. The Canadian Federal Pilots Association (CFPA)

  5. The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO)

  6. The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC)

PSC believes that the Harper government's plan to slash federal programs and services across the board represents a serious danger to the well-being of Canadians, their families and their communities. Visit www.SafetyEh.ca, and join the growing number of Canadians who are working hard to defend public services.
