Media Advisory: Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research Anticipates First Program Announcements at October 28 Board Meeting Public Session

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - October 27, 2015) - The Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research anticipates announcing its first programs as part of a public session of the board. Executive Director Dr. Sally Rockey will announce outcomes of the board meeting, expected to include the Foundation's first project announcements.

The session will also include comments and insights from food and agriculture community stakeholders regarding research needs in food and agriculture. Comments from the public will be published in writing at www.far.foundation following the event.

Dr. Rockey and former Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman, president of the board of directors, will make themselves available to the press when the board meeting adjourns at noon.

WHY: In an effort to engage the food and agriculture community, the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research issued a public invitation to attend or speak at this session of the board. An early engagement opportunity for executive director Sally Rockey, Ph.D., who joined the Foundation in September, this session is part of a comprehensive effort by FFAR to gather input from broad and diverse stakeholders and experts regarding the most pressing food and agriculture research needs.
