Media Advisory: Fraser Institute Founder Michael Walker Discusses the Causes Behind the Global Recession and Possible Remedies

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 5, 2009) - Michael Walker, renowned economist and Fraser Institute founder, will share his perspective on the root causes behind the current global recession and the state of the world's economy at the Fraser Institute's annual Dr. Harold Walter Siebens lecture in Vancouver on Thursday, May 7.

Walker will discuss the policies governments around the world have implemented to get the economy back on track and whether or not they will work.

Walker is a senior fellow at the Fraser Institute and president of the Fraser Institute Foundation. He served as executive director of the Fraser Institute from its establishment in 1974 until 2005. He has written or edited 50 books on economic matters and writes regularly for daily newspapers and financial periodicals.
