Media Advisory: Fraser Institute's Annual Alberta High School Rankings Coming Saturday, May 24

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - May 23, 2014) - On Saturday, May 24, the Fraser Institute will release its Report Card on Alberta's High Schools 2014, the go-to source for measuring school performance.

The Report Card ranks 279 public, private, separate and charter schools based on eight academic indicators using data from Grade 12 diploma exam results, and graduation and grade-to-grade transition rates.

It helps parents and educators compare schools (in small towns like Caroline and big districts like Calgary) by showing which schools have improved and which schools rank consistently among the poorest performing in the province.

Peter Cowley, co-author of the Report Card, is in Calgary and available to media until Monday, May 26.

A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwired on Saturday, May 24 at 6:30 a.m. (EST).

For the complete results on all ranked schools, visit compareschoolrankings.org. The Calgary Herald and the Edmonton Sun will also publish Report Card results.
