Media Advisory: Free Holiday Lights With Hydro Ottawa's Festive LED Light Exchange

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 12, 2009) - Hydro Ottawa is helping you go green this holiday season with its seasonal LED light exchange at the St. Laurent Shopping Centre this weekend. For every two old holiday light strings you bring in, you will receive one 12-foot LED string with 35 multi-coloured bulbs.

LED strings use 90 percent less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs. Over a four week period, three strings of incandescent holiday lights cost about $15.00 to illuminate, while decorating with three stings of LED lights costs only 50 cents.

WHEN: Saturday, November 14
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Sunday, November 15
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

LOCATION: St. Laurent Shopping Centre, near Roots and Aldo

The inefficient lights collected will be recycled. Please note there is a maximum of three free LED strings per person while supplies last.
