CariDee English reaches out to Canadian psoriasis sufferers

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 12, 2008) - Cursed. This is the word America's Next Top Model CariDee English used to describe living with psoriasis, an immune system disease characterized by red, inflamed patches of skin and silvery white scales covering 70% of her body.

CariDee dreamed of acting and modeling her entire life, but when she was diagnosed with psoriasis, she met an impassable roadblock. CariDee found the disease was still visible during modeling shoots. Despite her best efforts, her dream was shattered.

A long list of psoriasis treatments had not helped CariDee clear the disease, but with the help of her dermatologist, she found a new biologic medication that worked for her. Today, her psoriasis is 99% clear and CariDee is sharing her inspiring story and message through the Psoriasis Education Program (PEP)'s LOUD & CLEAR with CariDee Canadian Tour. PEP is a national public awareness program that provides accurate, comprehensive and non-commercial information on psoriasis to patients, families, health care professionals and the general public (online at psoriasisinfo.ca).
