Media Advisory: Future Astronomers Take a Trip to the Red Planet

Students inhabit Mars and take part in the NRC Marsville Small Planet Contest

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 20, 2009) - The winner of the NRC Canadian National Marsville Program's small planet contest will be announced tomorrow.

In celebration of International Year of Astronomy, elementary students participating in this year's Marsville Program were invited to write an essay on their experiences as young astronomers. Students will congregate at the Canada Science and Technology Museum to demonstrate the Martian habitats they have designed and constructed. NRC has partnered with the Museum, MDA Corporation and the Ottawa Catholic School Board to bring the Marsville Program to Eastern Ontario.
