Media Advisory: Future Astronomers Take a Trip to the Red Planet

Students inhabit Mars and take part in the NRC Marsville Small Planet Contest

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 20, 2009) - The winner of the NRC Canadian National Marsville Program's small planet contest will be announced tomorrow.

In celebration of International Year of Astronomy, elementary students participating in this year's Marsville Program were invited to write an essay on their experiences as young astronomers. Students from 18 schools in the Toronto area will congregate at Downsview Park Sports Centre, which has partnered with NRC in bringing Marsville to the Greater Toronto area, to demonstrate the Martian habitats they have designed and constructed.
