Media Advisory: Georgetti on Parties' Platforms Canadian Labour Congress 'Better Choice' Campaign Wrap-Up

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 19, 2006) - Ken Georgetti, president of the Canadian Labour Congress will hold a news conference in Vancouver on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. to outline how the main parties' platforms address the issues most relevant to working people and their families.

How do the parties address issues relevant to working
people and their families?

The CLC has run a national 'Better Choice' federal election campaign, distributing 1.25 million leaflets to workers on working people's priorities and encouraging members to visit a special election web site, to learn more about each parties' positions on issues of concern to labour.

Georgetti, CLC executive members and other labour leaders have criss-crossed the country, speaking to union members this month, asking them to make their vote count on the issues that are most relevant to them.

The Canadian Labour Congress, the national voice of the labour movement, represents 3 million Canadian workers. The CLC brings together Canada's national and international unions along with provincial and territorial federations of labour and 137 district labour councils.
