MEDIA ADVISORY: Global Petroleum Show Set to Host International Delegates

Annual energy event reimagines, reinvents and repositions the possibilities of the oil and gas industry

WHAT: Global Petroleum Show (GPS), one of the world's largest oil and gas gatherings, will once again kick-off in Calgary, Alberta from Tuesday, June 9 to Thursday, June 11 at Stampede Park. The show will welcome more than 50,000 attendees, 20,000 unique companies from 100 countries, and offer a platform for businesses from around the world to connect, work together and offer creative solutions for the industry.

With the theme of "Reimagine, Reinvent, Reposition," GPS provides industry leaders with a forum to connect with clients, suppliers, colleagues and potential customers, in one place, at one time. Exhibiting companies will showcase emerging technologies, a diverse range of products and services and offer insights on how to remain competitive even during an economic downturn.

International representation will include Bolivia, China, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Poland, South Africa, Qatar, UAE and USA, with pavilions on the exhibit floor from United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, Kuwait and Brazil. This year, a significant number of Canadian pavilions will be featured including exhibits from Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

- The Drilling Site Experience - This is the unique opportunity to get a true taste of the energy industry at work. The mock drilling site includes a drilling rig, mud unit, well head and command centre - a super integration of ten companies coming together to give you a hands-on experience and close-up view of a site in motion.This area will host Cubex, Ground Force Drilling, AltaFab, Newterra, Servagroup, United Safety, Calnash Trucking, Canadian Mats, Secure Energy and GenTex.

- Sector Focused Zones - Across the exhibit halls, a number of feature areas will focus on specific subject matters. These include the brand new Manufacturing Zone, which will put a spotlight on technologies such as machining, fabricating and welding, while the Safety Zone will focus on solutions to improve health and safety measures.
