Media Advisory: Government of Canada to Announce Initiatives to Help Canadian Pork Producers

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 14, 2009) - Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, Minister Vic Toews, Pork Council President Jurgen Preugschas and Canadian Federation of Agriculture President Laurent Pellerin will be at the National Centre for Livestock and the Environment in Glenlea, Manitoba, on Saturday August 15th, to announce investments to help hog farmers restructure or exit the industry, and to help the industry take advantage of new market opportunities.

Following the announcement, Minister Ritz will be available to speak to media.

Drive South on Highway 75 about 15 kms South of the Perimeter Highway (3.5 kms past St. Adolphe turnoff). Turn left at Research Station Road and go to the end of the road.
