MEDIA ADVISORY: Government of Canada to Announce New Investments in Cyberinfrastructure


MONTREAL, QC--(Marketwired - September 14, 2016) - Canada Foundation for Innovation

On Thursday, Marc Miller, Member of Parliament for Ville-Marie -- Le Sud-ouest -- Île-des-soeurs will be at McGill University to announce funding support -- made through the Canada Foundation for Innovation's Cyberinfrastructure Initiative -- for projects at universities across Canada.

MP Miller will make the announcement on behalf of the Minister of Science, the Honourable Kirsty Duncan. Many of today's research projects generate large amounts of complex data using high-powered computing platforms. Cyberinfrastructure includes the hardware, software and people needed to organize these data sets and extract results that will have a tangible impact on the lives of Canadians.
