Media Advisory: Government of Canada Celebrates 125th Anniversary of Glacier National Park and 50 Years of Avalanche Control Program

ROGERS PASS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 9, 2011) - Mr. David Wilks, Member of Parliament for Kootenay-Columbia, will take part in a celebration to highlight the 125th anniversary of Glacier National Park and the re-opening of the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre following extensive renovations made possible by Canada's Economic Action Plan.

Mr. Wilks will also celebrate 50 years of avalanche control, a program carried out in partnership with the Canadian Forces.

Mr. Wilks will participate in these events on behalf of the Honourable Peter Kent, Canada's Environment Minister and Minister responsible for Parks Canada.
