Media Advisory: Government of Canada Consults Stakeholders in Victoria on Plan to Strengthen Financial Literacy of Seniors

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLOMBIA--(Marketwired - June 24, 2014) - Minister of State (Finance) Kevin Sorenson, Minister of State (Seniors) Alice Wong and Canada's Financial Literacy Leader Jane Rooney will be available to the media following stakeholder consultations in Victoria on a proposed blueprint to strengthen the financial literacy of seniors. Current and near seniors are the focus of the first phase of work in the development of Canada's national strategy for financial literacy.

The media availability will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hotel Grand Pacific, 463 Belleville Street, in the Galiano Room, Victoria, British Colombia.

Members of the media who wish to attend the media availability are required to confirm their attendance by email at media@fcac-acfc.gc.ca, before noon, Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
