Media Advisory: Government of Canada to Restore Malvern Collegiate Institute World War I Memorial

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 15, 2011) - The Honourable Peter Kent, Minister of the Environment, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Minister of State (Agriculture), will announce funding for the Malvern Collegiate Institute World War I Memorial restoration. The funds, provided through Veterans Affairs Canada's Cenotaph/Monument Restoration Program, will be used to re-attach the statue's missing hand and replace the missing sword.
