Media Advisory: Government of Canada to Honour First World War Veteran

SPOKANE, WASHINGTON--(Marketwire - April 17, 2008) - The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, will present John Babcock, Canada's last known First World War Veteran, with a Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation. The Commendation is awarded to individuals who have contributed in an exemplary manner to the care and well-being of Veterans, or to the remembrance of the contribution, sacrifice and achievements of Veterans.
