Media Advisory: Governor General to Attend the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Canadian Sunset Ceremonies

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 27, 2012) - Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will attend the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies featuring the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride, at the RCMP stables of the Canadian Police College, in Ottawa, on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 7:15 p.m.

During the ceremonies, the Governor General, accompanied by RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson, will unveil the Ensign and badge of the Aboriginal Policing Services.

About the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies

Since 1988, the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies are an annual event, offering the RCMP a way of thanking the community for its support, as well as means of providing the public with an opportunity to see the Musical Ride.
