Media Advisory: Governor General of Canada Welcomes the President of the Republic of Chile to the Citadelle of Quebec

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 10, 2008) - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will welcome Her Excellency Michelle Bachelet, President of the Republic of Chile, at the Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle of Quebec, on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 10 a.m.

10 a.m.-Military Honours

Upon her arrival, the President of Chile will be greeted by the Governor General of Canada and will officially inspect the guard of the Royal 22e Regiment on the parade square of the Citadelle of Quebec. The military honours ceremony will include a 21-gun salute.

OPEN TO MEDIA - Media can cover the military honours ceremony and are asked to be on the parade square by 9:45 a.m.

10:20 a.m.-Meeting between the Governor General and the President

Her Excellency will have a private working meeting with the President inside the Residence.

OPEN TO MEDIA-Media will be able to attend a photo opportunity with the Governor General and the President on the terrace of the Citadelle, prior to the working meeting.
