Media Advisory: Governor General to Make a Special Appearance at We Day in Toronto

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 18, 2013) - -His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will be a guest speaker at We Day, taking place at the Air Canada Centre, in Toronto, on

Friday, September 20, 2013.

At approximately 9:45 a.m., the Governor General will discuss the importance of giving and volunteering in the community during an on-stage interview with Craig Kielburger, co-founder of Free the Children, before an audience of 20 000 student leaders from hundreds of elementary and high schools across the country. Mr. Kielburger was one of the Canadian delegates who accompanied the Governor General during his State visits to Botswana and South Africa in May 2013, to reinforce Canada's continued engagement in Africa.
