Media Advisory: Governor General to Receive an Honorary Degree from Algonquin College

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 14, 2012) - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will receive an honorary degree and deliver the keynote address during Algonquin College's School of Business convocation ceremony, being held at Scotiabank Place, on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 9:30 a.m.

During his address to the graduates, the Governor General will focus on the importance of building a smarter, more caring nation, using what they have learned to improve our communities. Algonquin College's largest graduating class will celebrate their achievements over six convocation ceremonies that will take place on June 18, 19 and 20, 2012. The College will award an honorary degree during each ceremony to acknowledge exemplary achievement in education, industry, community service or other areas of leadership in our society.
