Media Advisory: Green Party Leadership Debates

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 6, 2006) - The Green Party of Canada will be holding two official debates as part of its leadership race. The first debate will be held in Montreal on 14 June, the second debate will be held in Calgary on 21 June.



The contestants confirmed to date are David Chernushenko
(www.davidc.ca) and Elizabeth May (www.elizabethmay.ca).

Event: Leadership debate (English)
Date: Wednesday, 21 June 2006
Time: 7:00 -10:00 p.m.
Place: Orpheus Theatre, Campus Centre Building, SAIT Main Campus
1301 -16 Ave., N.W., Calgary (AB)


Tickets for the debates are $8 in advance and $15 at the door. The Montreal debate will be moderated by journalist Suzanne Laberge. The Calgary debate will be moderated by Glenbow Museum president, Michael Robinson. CPAC will be providing a pool network broadcast feed.

All candidates will be asked questions unknown to them beforehand. The questions are being submitted by the public at http://secure.greenparty.ca/questions.php
