Media Advisory: Harper Government Ministers Participate in Events From Coast to Coast to Highlight the Importance of Responsible Resource Development to Canadians

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 3, 2012) - The Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, will lead a series of events in 10 cities from coast to coast, in which Government of Canada Ministers will detail the benefits of the Government's Plan for Responsible Resource Development, including jobs, growth and long-term prosperity, while maintaining the highest possible standards for protecting the environment.

Below is a list of events taking place on Monday, June 4:

1. (10:00 a.m. NDT) The Honourable Peter Penashue, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada and regional minister for Newfoundland and Labrador, will be in St. John's, NL.

2. (9:30 a.m. ADT) The Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway, will be in Halifax, NS.

3. (10:00 a.m. EDT) The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Industry, will be in Montreal, QC.

4. (9:00 a.m. EDT) The Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, will be in Gatineau, QC.

5. (8:30 a.m. EDT) The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, will be in Toronto, ON.

6. (11:30 a.m. EDT) The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board of Canada and Minister for FedNor, will be in Thunder Bay, ON.

7. (1:00 p.m. MDT) The Honourable Gerry Ritz, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister of the Canadian Wheat Board, will be in Saskatoon, SK.

8. (8:30 a.m. MDT) The Honourable Tim Uppal, Minister of State (Democratic Reform), will be in Edmonton, AB.

9. (10:00 a.m. MDT) The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women, will be in Calgary, AB.
