OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 18, 2007) - The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Health, will visit the AECL Chalk River Laboratories.

Prior to the Minister's remarks, the NRU will be open to media for a tour. This is a unique opportunity to tour the site of the secure reactor with camera equipment.

Reporters must arrive at 1:00 to go through the extensive security screening required to gain access to the reactor. The tour should last 30 minutes, followed by the Minister's remarks on the reactor floor at 3:00.

Due to NRU security considerations, media wishing to attend must pre-register no later than 4:30 p.m., December 18, 2007. Only media with pre-approved visitor passes will be allowed site access on Wednesday, December 19th.

Media are permitted to bring camera equipment, but small concealable cameras are not permitted. This includes cell phone cameras. Regular cell phones are permitted, but must be turned off when inside the NRU building.
