Media Advisory: HMCS Charlottetown Departs

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - March 1, 2011) - Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) Charlottetown will depart Halifax at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011, for the Mediterranean Sea to participate in Operation Mobile off the coast of Libya.

Operation Mobile is the Canadian Forces contribution mounted in response to the developing situation in Libya.

About 240 sailors including a CH-124 Sea King helicopter detachment comprised of Air Force personnel will be aboard the ship.

WHEN: Departure at 10 a.m. Atlantic Time, Wednesday, March 2, 2011

WHERE: HMC Dockyard (entrance through Rainbow Gate)
