HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - March 17, 2008) - The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, will be in Halifax to meet with his provincial counterpart, community groups and stakeholders to promote the Government of Canada's commitment to creating racism-free workplaces.

Minister Blackburn will also meet with reservists at Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) Scotian to inform them about the proposed legislation to protect the civilian jobs of reservists.
