HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 21, 2009) - An emergency community meeting to mobilize community opposition to hospital cuts is being held on Monday, Feb. 23, at Hamilton's Michelangelo's Conference Centre.

Hundreds of Hamiltonians are expected at Monday's meeting, which will hear from speakers with the Hamilton Health Coalition, the Ontario Health Coalition and the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions/ CUPE.

The growing tide of cuts to Hamilton hospital services and jobs will be exposed, solutions offered and political mobilization encouraged.

Hamilton residents and organizations are coming together to stop cuts and demand the McGuinty government erase hospital deficits - the source of cuts and upheaval in health care across Ontario. Local Liberal MPPs will be the focus of popular opposition to Hamilton hospital cuts.
