Media Advisory : Ill and Injured Soldiers Gather in Whistler, British Columbia, to Experience Winter Paralympic Sports

WHISTLER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 1, 2013) - Media are invited to attend the sledge hockey preliminaries of the inaugural Allied Winter Camp, hosted by the Canadian Armed Forces' Soldier On Program, in partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee, in Whistler, British Columbia, on Monday, March 4, 2013.

The Allied Winter Camp, taking place from February 27 until March 8, provides an opportunity for 40 ill and injured military members from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States to acquire new skills in para-alpine skiing, para-snowboarding, para-Nordic skiing, sledge hockey, para-biathlon and wheelchair curling, with a Paralympic Games-type finale to close out the 10-day event.
