Media Advisory: Imagery of Afghanistan Air Wing Close-out

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 18, 2011) - The Joint Task Force Afghanistan (JTF (Afg)) Air Wing will officially end operations today at 8 p.m. (Kandahar time). The Assistant Commander Royal Canadian Air Force, Major-General Yvan Blondin, will be attending the close-out ceremony at the Kandahar Air Field.

The ceremony will showcase the accomplishments of the JTF (Afg) Air Wing, which has been operating since December 2008 and has helped save many Canadian and allied lives by providing airlift in theatre.

The Royal Canadian Air Force will be providing still images and B-roll video on the Canadian Forces Combat Camera (CFCC) website for the media to access.

When will the imagery be available: Saturday, August 19, 2011 at 10 a.m.
