GUELPH, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 6, 2014) - On Friday, February 7, local frontline workers in developmental services will host a visit to their workplace by the Honourable Liz Sandals MPP. The direct support workers are members of Local 4392 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
Hon. Liz Sandals, MPP for Guelph, makes the visit in recognition of Developmental Services Worker Appreciation Day in Guelph.
CUPE marks Developmental Service Worker Appreciation Day each year to highlight the vital supports and services that direct support workers provide to people with developmental disabilities in the community.
CUPE represents 8,000 direct support workers in developmental services in Ontario.
