CrossIron Mills bullfrogpowers equivalent of all households in Airdrie and Northern Calgary with clean, renewable energy for Earth Hour

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 19, 2013) - On March 23, 2013, Bullfrog Power and CrossIron Mills are partnering to provide clean, renewable energy during Earth Hour (8:30 pm - 9:30 pm) for the equivalent of every household in the city of Airdrie (14 megawatt hours) and Northern Calgary (41% of the city's households at 154 megawatt hours) through Bullfrog Power.

For customers, starting at 10:00 am that day, CrossIron Mills will be providing a free shopping bag exchange where the first 1,000 customers who bring a plastic bag to Guest Services will receive a reusable shopping bag. Throughout the day, exhibits and activities will educate shoppers on CrossIron Mills' sustainability initiatives, including Bullfrog Power, as well as encouraging participation in Earth Hour.

Media are invited to a behind-the-scenes tour of the centre's sustainability initiatives, which will include the new Green room, recycling areas, waste containers, and water management facilities, including the irrigation system and storm water management ponds. James Moller, General Manager, CrossIron Mills, will be available to answer questions about the partnership for Earth Hour as well as CrossIron Mills' facilities and sustainability goals.
