Media Advisory: Iraq War Resisters, MPs and Andy Barrie to Call for Action from Trudeau Government

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 21, 2016) - The War Resisters Support Campaign will be holding a media conference with Jenny Kwan, MP (Vancouver East), the federal New Democratic Party (NDP) immigration critic, and Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, MP (Beaches-East York), on Friday, July 22, 10:00 a.m. EDT at the United Steelworkers union hall (25 Cecil St.; free parking on site).

Iraq War veteran and resister Dean Walcott, from Peterborough, Ontario and Ashlea Brockway, the wife of veteran/resister Jeremy Brockway from Port Colborne, Ontario are going to talk about their experiences.

Andy Barrie, CM, a Vietnam War resister and popular retired CBC Radio broadcaster, is also expected to speak.

The Iraq War resisters have been waiting up to 12 years for their cases to be resolved.
