  • Kauffman Foundation Research Analyst Arnobio Morelix will discuss the new Kauffman Index: Startup Activity reports on business creation rates for states and metropolitan areas around the country.
  • Key findings of the reports to be released on Thursday, June 4, include:
    • Startup activity bounced upward in 32 U.S. states last year, and 18 of the nation's largest 40 metropolitan areas also saw increases in new venture activity
    • The top 10 metros for startup activity centered on the cities of: Austin, Miami, San Jose, Los Angeles, Denver, San Francisco, New York, Houston, San Diego, and San Antonio
    • The five states that ranked at the top of the 2015 Index were Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Colorado and Vermont.
