Media Advisory: Ken Georgetti to Attend G-20 Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 15, 2012) - Ken Georgetti, Canadian Labour Congress President, will attend trade union meetings held in conjunction with the summit of G-20 leaders in Los Cabos, Mexico on June 18-19th. Georgetti will be available for media comment from Los Cabos.

Georgetti and other global union leaders will press labour's agenda for dealing with the international economic situation. They are calling on G20 political leaders to rethink austerity policies which are pushing economies back into recession and destroying jobs, and to focus instead on a plan for creating jobs and growth. The labour leaders are also renewing their call for more stringent regulation of the financial system and the introduction of a financial transactions tax to support jobs and social protection.
