WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 28, 2012) - A cross-Ontario coalition concerned with growing inequality is releasing an unprecedented new report that shows that Ontario has sunk to last place when measured against every important social indicator. In Kitchener-Waterloo, the site of one of Ontario's most contentious byelections, the impacts of government cuts to jobs and public services are particularly hard.
The report, to be released Wednesday by the Ontario Common Front, tracks Ontario's standing on poverty, income inequality, out-of-pocket costs for social programs, wait lists for community services and other various measures.
The principal author of the report will be on hand to answer questions about the findings and community and labour spokespeople, who have launched a K-W Common Front, will highlight the impact of these realities on the communities they represent.
