Media Advisory: Kitchener-Waterloo Students Finding Out a Future as a CPA Has No Limits

Bryan Lillycrop at Loblaw Companies Limited gives Chartered Professional Accounting career advice

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 6, 2014) - A select group of Kitchener-Waterloo-area high school students are getting an exclusive look into the many opportunities available in the world of business at the No Limits Conference being hosted by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario on May 8.

Approximately 200 students, nominated by their schools for their leadership skills and interest in university business programs, will be attending this daylong session with approximately 25 teachers. Kitchener is hosting one of just three No Limits conferences being held during the 2014 school year.

Among the day's highlights will be a presentation by Bryan D. Lillycrop, CPA, CA, Vice President of External Financial Reporting at Loblaw Companies Limited. He'll discuss the importance of the CPA designation and its benefits to his career. Bryan has more than fifteen years of financial management experience gained from senior financial positions at Nortel Networks Corporation and Maple Leaf Foods Inc. Bryan has contributed to ongoing education for both CPA Ontario and CPA Canada for over 15 years as a lecturer and seminar leader as well as involvement in course and exam question development.

James Cunningham will be Master of Ceremonies of the event and will also deliver a humorous and informative 45-minute presentation on the art of money management. Focused on basic concepts - "know your flow", "control what you owe" and "invest some dough" - the Funny Money program informs and amuses in equal measure. James is a comedian, actor, author and the host of the Food Network's "Eat St." TV series.

The No Limits Conference brings approximately 25 Chartered Professional Accountants from the region's top businesses together with students most likely to be tomorrow's successful business professionals. During No Limits, the students will get the chance to meet CPAs and discuss the many opportunities that open up for people who achieve the prestigious CPA designation.
