Media Advisory: Kitchener-Waterloo Students Get Financial and CA Career Advice

CA author and Funny Money comedian guide students on future success

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 14, 2013) - For many high school students, just managing money on a day-to-day basis is a challenge and deciding how to earn it is still a mystery. At the No Limits conference, a select group of Kitchener-Waterloo high school students will have fun learning money management techniques from James Cunningham of Funny Money Inc., while also learning about the many business opportunities offered by a career as a Chartered Accountant from "Babes on Bay Street" author Janet Graham, CPA, CA, MBA.

On May 16, approximately 160 students, nominated by their schools for their leadership skills and interest in university business programs, and more than 20 teachers will be attending this daylong hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, working in partnership with the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.

Among the day's highlights will be a presentation by Janet Graham, the Managing Director of IQ Alliance Incorporated, which provides corporate and investment banking advisory services. She'll discuss the importance of the CA designation and its benefits to her career. A CPA, CA who obtained her designation at Price Waterhouse, Janet has spent her career working in finance, investment and real estate on Bay Street, along the way becoming one of the first women to become a Vice-President and CIBC. She founded and authored "Babes on Bay Street" to provide insight for the women entering business on what it takes to succeed.

James Cunningham, of Funny Money, will be Master of Ceremonies of the event and will also deliver a humorous and informative one hour presentation on the art of money management. Focused on basic concepts - "know your flow", "control what you owe" and "invest some dough" - the Funny Money program informs and amuses in equal measure. The No Limits conference brings Chartered Accountants from Kitchener-Waterloo's top businesses together with students most likely to be tomorrow's successful business professionals. During No Limits, the students will get the chance to meet CAs and discuss the many opportunities that open up for people who achieve the prestigious CA designation. Participating organizations include major accounting firms, retailers, technology firms and more.
