Media Advisory: Leisureworld Creedan Valley Cuts Focus of Information Picket

BARRIE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 29, 2012) - As residents of the Leisureworld Caregiving Centre Creedan Valley begin to feel the effects of budget cuts, members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3114 will hold an information session outside the facility to alert the public.

"We hope to make the public aware of how devastating these cuts will be to resident care," says Jodie Hawthorne, President of CUPE 3114.

Members of CUPE 3114, who provide critical services such as Personal Support Workers (PSWs), nurses, kitchen staff, housekeeping, administration and maintenance, will assemble outside Leisureworld Creedan Valley, to speak to residents, their family members and the public about how Leisureworld's plans to eliminate staff and programming at the facility will negatively impact quality of care.
