Media Advisory: Library and Archives Canada Looks Back at Bado's Career

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 19, 2016) - Accustomed to portraying personalities in the news and letting his drawings do the talking, Bado, cartoonist for Le Droit, recounts his own impressive career.

Guy Badeaux (better known as Bado) will be the guest of Dr. Guy Berthiaume, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, as part of the Signatures Series of Library and Archives Canada.

Bado has now been publishing cartoons in Ottawa's French-language daily for 35 years. His work, combining art and journalism, throws a spotlight on the news, sometimes scathing and cynical, at other times tender and moving. His drawings reflect both events that have seared themselves into the collective imagination and the little trials of everyday life and human foibles.

Documents from Bado's archives will be on display for the occasion.

The discussion will take place in French with simultaneous English translation.

We hope to see you next Tuesday.
