About the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association

The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) is the national voice for hospice palliative care in Canada. It is a bilingual, national charitable non-profit association whose mission is the pursuit of excellence in care for persons approaching death so that the burdens of suffering, loneliness and grief are lessened. Established in 1991, its volunteer Board of Directors is composed of hospice palliative care workers and volunteers from Canadian provinces and territories as well as members-at-large. In the Fall of 2010, the CHPCA launched it's Champion's Council, a group of key business and community leaders in Canada, including Mr. Lucas, who have offered to advance the profile of hospice palliative care, providing a wider range of expertise, leadership and support to the CHPCA.
